Zephyr Peacock India

Zephyr Peacock India seeks to make private equity investments targeting India’s fast growing small and medium market corporate segment. In addition to providing capital, Zephyr Peacock seeks to add value to the portfolio companies by leveraging its global relationships in the international corporate and financial markets. Zephyr Peacock’s management team, based in Bangalore and New York, combines local and international private equity expertise and has many years of investment and operating experience.

Strategy: African Agriculture

Zephyr Management was appointed successor manager of Strategy: African Agriculture in July 2018. Originally formed in 2011, Strategy: African Agriculture called approximately $20 million to invest in eight companies involved in various aspects of agriculture in Uganda, Kenya, and Malawi. Zephyr is providing active support to portfolio companies to address capital needs and working toward an orderly liquidation of Strategy: African Agriculture’s remaining holdings.

Strategy: ZM Africa

Strategy: ZM Africa was launched in 1997 to make private equity investments in the Republic of South Africa and other countries in Southern Africa, also known as the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. Zephyr became the manager in 2000. Strategy: ZM Africa sought to make diversified direct private equity investments in high growth business sectors in liberalized African markets in the SADC region. The investments related to the Strategy: ZM Africa have been divested.

Strategy: South Africa Capital and South Africa Private Equity

Strategy: South Africa Capital and South Africa Private Equity were launched in August 1995 to make private equity investments in the Republic of South Africa and other countries in Southern Africa. The Funds, which invested in parallel and on the same terms, sought to capitalize on what the Manager viewed as a unique window of opportunity to invest in post-Apartheid South Africa. The investments related to the Strategy: South Africa Capital and South Africa Private Equity have been divested. 

Strategy: Pan-African Investment

Strategy: Pan-African Investment was launched in 2003 to make private equity investments in Africa. The strategy invested in businesses that were expanding regionally in Africa through organic growth or acquisition. The Manager assisted these businesses in developing into some of the leading African businesses in their industries, in order to be fully competitive in a global economy. Building critical mass in these businesses was crucial in order to achieve competitive size and adequate profitability. The investments related to the Strategy: Pan-African Investment have been divested.
